NJCC Awarded $928k to Continue Revitalization of East Trenton Library
The East Trenton Collaborative is excited to announce that New Jersey Community Capital (our lead organization) was awarded $928k in funds to complete Phase 1 rehabilitation of the East Trenton Library. These funds were awarded through the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs’ Neighborhood Revitalization tax Credit Program. Residents are aware that the East Trenton Collaborative has been working on revitalizing the library since 2018 along with resident leaders and the City of Trenton.
The East Trenton Library is located at 701 N. Clinton Ave, and is one of the primary activites of the East Trenton Collaborative. Following the completion of the revitalization of the library, it will be utilized as a community center, run by a number of partner organizations hosting programs focused on employment training, adult education prorgrams, and more.
To quote the recent ROI article, written by Linda Lidner on July 15, 2022: “Kathy Bellamy, an East Trenton resident who has worked with ETC in planning for the renovation, said ‘community members eagerly await the reopening of this beloved facility for community programming. The East Trenton Library building was the heart of learning and gathering for generations of East Trenton residents, and it will soon be again.‘“
We are beyond thankful for NJCC’s continued facilitation of the East Trenton Collaborative and support for the East Trenton community, and are excited to continue progressing on the restoration of the East Trenton Library.
